Emily and Sean hosted their tropical boho wedding at The Millwick in Downtown LA Arts District. Their venue was full of green and urban elements all throughout the space. From the exposed brick inside with a warehouse-like vibe, to the courtyard surrounded in tropical plants, it makes a truly unique wedding venue inside and out.

As the day began, Emily and her ladies got ready at The Westin in DTLA and Sean and his guys hung out in an epic AirBnB near the venue. Emily and her bridesmaids had an amazing view of DTLA from their room and the guy’s AirBnB was so close to the Millwick, they were able to walk down the road to the wedding!

I absolutely love how Emily and Sean used the space at The Millwick for their wedding. It’s got such a cool vibe inside and out and it was a blast to photograph. For the wedding ceremony, the guests gathered on the courtyard while Emily and Sean stood in front of the green wall (a floor to top of the wall greenery installation). The reception followed in the same space with room to flow in and out from the dinner area. For their “sunset” photos we left the venue and walked around the Arts District. We hit some gorgeous murals and ran across the incredibly busy street that runs by the venue.

After we wrapped up golden hour photos, we headed back inside for toasts and dessert. The toasts were hilarious; Emily’s sister even wrote a rap. Once toasts were finished, the party headed to the dancefloor. In the background, they even had Wedding Crashers playing on a giant projector screen. It was a party like no other.
