Kristen and Mike were married on the hottest day in June under a surprising cloud of smoke that crept in during their ceremony. We were prepared to sweat our butts off, but we weren’t prepared for a fire to start the next county over and cover the sky in gray smoke clouds for the majority of the day. However, despite the numerous challenges we faced this day, it was truly a gorgeous event.
Kristen’s parent’s house is just off the highway in Yountville surrounded by olive trees and vineyards as far as the eye can see. They sent their guests home with home made olive oil (honestly the best I’ve EVER had) and kept everyone on the dance floor all night with an amazing live band. It was such a treat to photograph this day. Kristen’s dad took home most honorable mention with his 45 minute speech (HAH!) while Mike’s brother topped it off with an amazing rap toast. It was hilarious!
The day may have thrown us curve balls we never saw coming, but it turned out to be one of the prettiest weddings I’ve ever seen. Even with an orange glow in the sky, Kristen and Mike made it a day to remember forever.
